the treatment

Geneveve™ by Viveve treatment has the potential to help millions of women who suffer silently from laxity (looseness) and the resulting loss of sexual sensation and satisfaction. It is a clinically-proven, single-session treatment that safely and comfortably rejuvenates the tissue improving its responsiveness.

Over time, or with trauma, the collagen can lose the strength and shape, creating a feeling of looseness (laxity), especially around the opening area. Common causes of laxity include childbirth, other physical stress on the tissue, ageing, genetic pre-disposition, and lifestyle.

Why DO the treatment?

The Viveve clinical study demonstrated improvement of arousal and/or orgasm was statistically significant as self-reported by 9 out of 10 patients. It has also been shown to cure urinary stress incontinence (involuntary urination) and improve overall sensation during intercourse.

Is laxity common?

It is an extremely common medical condition. A Viveve-sponsored survey of U.S. OB/GYN physicians revealed that laxity is the number one physical change that they see or their patients report following natural delivery; more common than weight gain, incontinence, or stretch marks.

In a survey of more than four hundred women in the U.S. who had natural deliveries, nearly half reported some level of concern about laxity.

How does GENEveve work?

The Geneveve treatment uses clinically-proven cryogen-cooled monopolar radiofrequency (CMRF) to uniformly deliver gentle volumetric heating while cooling delicate surface tissue. This unique technology stimulates the body’s natural collagen formation process.

The Geneveve treatment is not painful. Some patients report a cooling sensation, other note a warmth, but virtually all agree that the procedure is painless and comfortable.

Very patient is different; some patients report a difference, on average new collagen takes around 3 months and may continue to improve after that time.

How long will results last?

Results will vary from patient to patient based on their individual needs and their body’s unique ability to produce collagen, but on average patients are still feeling their results at 12 months. From there you can decide, with the doctor, whether or not you are ready for a maintenance treatment or if you’re still experiencing great results and can wait.

How does GENEveve differ to Kegel or Pelvic floor exercises?

The pelvic floor muscles support your uterus, bladder, small intestine and rectum. Over time and with regular practice, Kegel exercises may strengthen your pelvic floor muscles to help prevent or control urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor problems. While pelvic floor exercises are good for women, they do not address loss of elasticity in the soft tissue that rests upon the muscle, and that contributes to laxity. The most common issue post birth is loss of sensation, which unfortunately Kegel exercises can’t restore.
